Estimates are either/or, not all at once: a finished video assumes a 30-second export with a few preview frames, and clips are five seconds at 480p. Your real usage depends on how long your videos are and what you generate.

What each thing costs
Every rate is set from what the work actually costs. Nothing is charged twice, nothing is charged for editing, and anything that fails is refunded automatically.

Before you buy
- Why credits instead of a monthly plan?
- Because the underlying work is billed by the second. Rendering a minute of 1080x1920 costs real compute and generating footage costs a real vendor bill, so a flat monthly fee would either overcharge light users or lose money on heavy ones. Credits let the price track the work.
- Do credits expire?
- No. There is no monthly reset and no expiry date. Credits stay in your account until you spend them, and buying a second pack adds to what you have rather than replacing it.
- What is free?
- Editing is free. Every transaction, revision, restore and project costs nothing, and storing images or audio your assistant generated is free too. You are only charged when SurgeScribe spends money on your behalf — an export, a preview frame, or generation done here.
- Which AI models do I get?
- Video: ByteDance Seedance 2.0 Mini, 2.0 Fast, 2.0 and 2.5, at 480p or 720p (Seedance 2.0 also in 1080p), 4 to 15 seconds with sound; MiniMax H3, in 2K with sound, 5 to 15 seconds; and Wan 3.0, with sound, 2 to 30 seconds at up to 1080p. Images: OpenAI GPT Image 2.5. Narration: Google Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS, with 30 voices and more than 70 languages. Music: Google Lyria 3, about 30 seconds a track. Every pack unlocks all of them.
- Will I be charged without knowing?
- No. Before anything that spends credits, your AI tells you what it will cost and waits for your go-ahead. For video it first asks which model you want, with the price of the clip on each.
- Why is generating video so much more expensive than exporting?
- Because it is. A second of AI video costs several cents from the model provider, while a second of exporting costs a fraction of one. Video is priced close to what the provider charges, and each model at its own rate, so you only pay more when you choose a bigger model.
- How much storage do I get?
- One allowance for everything SurgeScribe keeps for you: files you upload or your assistant hands over, the video clips, images, narration and music generated here, and your exports. 500 MB free, 25 GB with Spark, 75 GB with Boost and 200 GB with Pro. Preview frames do not count; they are deleted after a few hours. When it is full, delete what you no longer need or buy a bigger pack. A plan lasts 30 days from your last purchase, and any purchase restarts it. Credits never expire, but once a plan ends you have 30 days to buy again; after that, stored files above the free 500 MB are deleted, oldest first. We email you and show the date on your dashboard before it happens.
- What happens if a render fails?
- You are refunded. Exports and generation are charged up front so an empty balance is caught before the work starts, and anything that fails to produce a file returns its credits automatically.
- Can I try it before paying?
- Yes. Signing up gives you 50 credits with no card — enough to connect your assistant, edit, preview and export a finished 30-second video. Generating video, images, narration or music needs a credit pack; images and audio your assistant makes itself are free to add.
